SAMTECH announces the interface between its powerful optimization platform BOSS quattro (pre-release 5) and CATIA V5

Liège, Belgium May 3, 2004 -- BOSS quattro is a complete open environment, which allows to explore a design space by providing a set of tools from simple parametric studies to fully automatic optimization. BOSS quattro provides drivers for most CAD & FEA commercial software available on the market and can also be easily connected to any in-house software.

The pre-release of BOSS quattro V5 is now interfaced with CATIAV5. This version allows its users to access to the parameters from a CATIAV5 design table (associated to a CatPart or a CatAnalysis document) and to perform parametric studies, statistical analysis, optimization, designs of experiments and responses surface on analyses and simulation lead by CATIAV5 models.

Thanks to the BOSS quattro task manager, it is also possible to integrate CATIAV5 in the design process, in an interactive manner, as any other commercial or in-house software tool usually managed by BOSS quattro (SAMCEF, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, EXCEL...).

The pre-release BOSS quattro V5 gives again to SAMTECH the opportunity to demonstrate to the whole optimization community its high level of expertise in Scientific Software development. The main new other capabilities of this version are the coupling with SAMCEF Field V4, the generative and associative pre- and post-processor of SAMCEF, and the optimization using non-linear semi-analytical sensitivities calculated as functions of time by SAMCEF Mecano, the coupled non-linear FEA and MBS module of SAMCEF.
